Invitation to Share
In these strange and unsettling days of the pandemic, when we may be isolated from family and friends, we need to know that we are not alone in this. Jesus is walking with us, offering comfort and hope as we struggle through these difficult times.
Why not share that comfort and hope with family members or friends? Invite a friend or family member, and their household, to join us for Faith Formation L!VE in December, so they can hear a message of hope and belonging as we prepare for a different kind of Christmas this year. Please use this invitation, Waiting in Joyful Hope, to invite them to join us!

Adult Faith Formation L!VE
Each month, we feature a video by a nationally known Catholic speaker for adult members of the parish to watch and discuss. Our featured speaker for December is Peter Herbeck of Renewal Ministries, whose mission is parish renewal. Here Peter shares his experiences and insights into the everyday holiness of family life. This month we will not gather to discuss the reflections of the speaker, due to the crowded December schedule. The video is posted below and you are invited to watch it on your own and reflect on it.
Sunday Gospel Reflections
A great way to prepare for Sunday Mass is to read and reflect on, or discuss with your household, the Sunday readings. Even if a person doesn't get to the readings ahead of time, reflecting on them during the week following Mass can be a great way to live out the message we have heard proclaimed.
Below are short reflections on the readings for the next four Sundays. These are great tools for personal prayer and reflection, and also great tools to help lead a discussion about the readings among the members of your household.

Parish Connection
Create an Ornament for our Tree of Hope
As we celebrate Advent and prepare for Christmas we are aware that we are in a time of waiting. We wait in joyful hope. We know many things are different this year... what is one thing your family has great hope for? What is something you are willing to wait on? What is a hope for the future your family is holding to this year? Take a moment to think about this hope. Share your hope with your parish community, so we can share in each other's hope. As a household, please make a family ornament and bring it to Mass next weekend and add it to our hope tree. You can find an ornament template here or create your own. Write on the ornaments we will have available by the tree, or add your family word to this link and staff will add your word to an ornament and hang it on the tree for you. You have choices for your ornament:
During the Christmas season, we will all be able to enjoy the beauty of our tree of hope, whether in person or in photos we will share. Thank you for contributing to the tree! |
