Adult Faith Formation L!VE
Each month, we will feature a video by a nationally known Catholic speaker for adult members of the parish to watch and discuss. The discussion will take place on a Wednesday evening between Faith Formation L!VE gatherings. The November discussion will take place via Zoom on Sunday, November 22 (moved to Sunday this month, due to Thanksgiving). You can view Fr. Michael Driscoll's video ahead of time here. You may also watch Fr. Michael Driscoll's FULL video to see the full presentation.
Before watching Fr. Michael's video please read closely the Emmaus story, Luke 24:13-15. Then reflect on the following three questions:
1. What do we know about these two disciples?
2. Why did they not recognize Jesus on the road to Emmaus?
3. If someone invites you to "break bread" with them, what are some of the meanings for this term?

Sunday Gospel Reflections
A great way to prepare for Sunday Mass is to read and reflect on, or discuss with your household, the Sunday readings. Even if a person doesn't get to the readings ahead of time, reflecting on them during the week following Mass can be a great way to live out the message we have heard proclaimed.
Below are short reflections on the readings for the next four Sundays. These are great tools for personal prayer and reflection, and also great tools to help lead a discussion about the readings among the members of your household.

Parish Connection
Recipe Book
Thank you to all who participated in the November Parish Connection of submitting recipes. The recipes and stories gathered have been collected into this Cookbook that you can save and/or download and print at home. Hope you can enjoy these family recipes in your home. |
In this gathering, we have talked about how important it is to be thankful and grateful to God for all of our blessings, even when things are not perfect. We have also talked about how meals are important to families, as they were to the early Church households, and about how the household table is where we come together to give thanks to God.
Food carries our stories and our traditions, and when we gather to share special foods at table, we remember who we are and what is important to us. This month, we are asking you to share a recipe that is important to your family, and to tell us WHY it’s important. We will gather all of these recipes and stories into a very special parish family cookbook. Your recipe might be special for one or more of these reasons:

We will gather all of these recipes and stories into a very special parish family cookbook. Your recipe might be special for one or more of these reasons:
- it is the oldest recipe in the family
- it is something that is made every Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday, etc.
- the recipe reflects your family’s cultural heritage or roots
- the recipe may have an association with a special person in your family tree
- and many other possible reasons….
