O Antiphons
Even if you think you have never heard of the O Anitphons, you probably have. One of the most familiar hymns of the Advent season is "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," which is based on the O Antiphons. From December 17-23, during the Evening Prayer of the Church (prayed by religious communities and others), a different O Antiphon is prayed each evening. Click on the links below to learn more and sing and pray with the O Antiphons.

O Antiphons in Music
In addition to the familiar hymn mentioned above, contemporary religious composers have used the O Antiphons for inspiration for their music. Steve Angrisano is one of those composers. You can hear his song by clicking on the button below, and you can also hear a delightful, short interview in which he explains the O Antiphons and how he composed his song.

Be Kind
During Advent and December the days are busy. This year we need to be creative in ways to reach out and care for others. As a household print off the Christmas Kindness Bingo sheet. Choose different activities. Cross them off as you complete. Can you get a Bingo? What about a blackout?
