Side Dishes
choose 2 or more
Each household is asked to choose two or more side dishes from the menu below, in addition tp the main course. This is where you customize your family's experience to fit the ages, interests, abilities, resources, and needs of your household. If you have a Confirmation candidate, you are asked to complete the menu options under "With Teens/Confirmation Connection." Remember to choose at least two, but do try more. There is no limit!

Explore Mark's Gospel
On the First Sunday of Advent, we began a new liturgical year. That means that we also begin a new cycle of readings from the Lectionary. As we enter into Cycle B, we will primarily encounter Mark’s gospel. Mark’s is the shortest gospel and conveys a sense of urgency. In “Mark’s Urgent Message,” we enjoy a concise introduction to this gospel and its writer, to guide us as we discover the good news in this Cycle B gospel this liturgical year.

Who Were Jesus' Family?
During the Advent and Christmas seasons, we hear more about Jesus’ birth and childhood more than any other time of year. We also hear more about his family, but the information is pretty minimal. What was Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth like? Who were the brothers of Jesus mentioned in the gospels? What happened to family members of Jesus after his death, resurrection, and ascension? “The Family of Jesus,” part of the Scripture from Scratch series, explores the family relationships of Jesus, using information from historical sources in addition to the Bible. It reveals fascinating information about Jesus’ ancestry and early life, as well as his extended family.
