This month at our Faith Formation gatherings, we heard the Pentecost story. Pentecost marks the end of the Easter season and celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit. It is sometimes referred to as “The Birthday of the Church,” because when the Holy Spirit came to the disciples, they were empowered to leave their hiding places and spread the Good News.

This year we have walked through the New Testament. In May we discovered we are “Living a Mission” to share Jesus’ love with all the world. One way of doing this is to share in the ministry of the Church. We are each called to use our gifts. A community thrives because everyone uses their gifts for the good of the community. What gifts did you discover you have? How are you using your gifts? Find a way to share your gifts with our faith community. Consider serving in one of the ministry roles at Mass, helping with Mass in the Grass, cleaning up in the kitchen after an event…. There are so many ways to share gifts and build community.
