Bible Basics
This year as we continue our study of the Bible and learn more about the New Testament, let's take a minute to review how we find Bible passages. We look them up by the name of the book of the Bible (check in the table of contents to find where each book begins). The first number is the chapter. The number after the colon is the verse or verses. Practice looking up verses. One person open the Bible and write down a verse you like. Give your verse to the person to your right and see if they can find the verse. See how many you can get correct. Happy learning!

Bible Story
Emmaus Story Luke 24:13-35
In the Emmaus story, Jesus is walking along the road and meets two disciples. They do not recognize him and can't believe he has not heard the news of Jesus' death. Together read the Emmaus story and talk about:
Why you think the disciples didn't recognize Jesus?
Would you have recognized Jesus?
What would you have done if you had met the risen Jesus walking down the road?
Parents you can learn more about the Emmaus Story from Fr. Michael Driscoll in this month's Adult Faith Formation Video on the Main Course Page

jesus My friend
This year as we explore the New Testament, we will learn more about Jesus. "Jesus My Friend" is an activity that we will do each month. You can find the master template to create a Jesus my friend on the September With Children page.
Jesus is a friend who like to listen to us. Jesus enjoys hearing our good days and listening when we need help. This month, spend a few minutes each day telling Jesus what you are thankful for each day. Challenge, can you think of something new each day to be thankful for?
